A Snipers War is a compelling watch.
This documentary follows a Deki, a man driven by personal moral and political conviction, who operates as a sniper for the breakaway republic's, in Eastern Ukraine.
It does not matter what side of the political divide you are on, this is a compelling watch. Its a sad insight into the many horrors of war that are both physical and psychological. It examines the impact of what amounts to a war of attrition, not only the sniper and other soldiers who fight but also civilians, who live each day under the constant threat of injury and death.
Well produced, directed and paced, this documentary does not judge, it simply shows the viewer what war really is and I think, why we should reject the message of those, particularly politicians, who seek to promote and glorify it.
